Garnishee Order
A court order (now called an Emoluments Attachment Order or EAO) that instructs your employer to deduct money from your salary to pay a debt. It is a last-resort collection mechanism used when other methods have failed.
Usage Examples
"His employer started deducting R1,500 from his salary each month after a garnishee order was granted."
"A garnishee order can only be issued by a court after the creditor has obtained a judgment."
