Disbursement

Disbursement
Once your loan is approved and you've signed all the paperwork, the lender actually has to give you the money. That's disbursement. Usually hits your account within 24 to 48 hours. Some lenders say they're same-day, but they're usually lying by about three hours.

Usage Examples

"Lerato got approved on Monday morning and the R40,000 was in her Capitec account by Tuesday afternoon. Capitec's disbursement process is lekker fast."

"Mpho's lender took all of Thursday to disburse, then on Friday they asked for one more document. He didn't get the cash until the following Tuesday."

"Some lenders (looking at you, Wonga) charge you initiation fees upfront, so if you borrowed R25,000, you only see R22,500 hit your account. Do the math before you celebrate."
